it's been another emotional week. but again we pulled through. thanks to my beloved unnis - addy and candy~ it's been such a long time since we had dinner together, just the 3 of us. i guess we were meeting up cos my birthday is coming up, but honestly i don't feel in the mood for any kind of celebration. just really wanted to spend time with them. even though it was a short time spent together, it was really sweet bcos addy secretly bought the present (i presume when i was away in BKK? heh.) and candy secretly bought the cake! i must be quite dense to not have noticed, or they must have been really good at hiding from my eyes...


my present is a nice handbag (in that black bag)! now i don't need to get another one for my trip to korea! they had wanted to surprise me with the cake in the restaurant, but bcos the other one next door had a noisy lion dance troupe, we had to move to killiney's to enjoy a nice glass of ice milo with the mango ice cream cake. yumminess!



guess by marciano punk belle's large travel bag. actually it's not the one in the picture; mine is bigger but looks similar. ma bought it for me and said it's for me to bring to korea (like i'm only going 5 days)... sigh. i am so loved. i may not feel like it, but really, i'm so blessed.

back from my 2D "business" trip to bangkok! thailand is truly the land of smiles... most of the pple there i met were always smiling or bowing with their hands in a 'wai'. and almost everything (not imported) there is so CHEAP! like, it cost me only S$9 to get from the airport to BKK korea plaza! in singapore, S$9 is probably the fixed fare for getting OUT of changi airport can...


oh man, BKK KP is like situated on the ground floor of this cool shopping mall that is like half-vivo city and half-esplanade! the shopping! the food! they have a damn cool ice-skating rink with cool karaoke lounge (not ur k-box style ok. it actually looks like MOS, not that i've been lah...) and next to it is a bowling alley with a LONG bar and disco lights. then they have a 10-screen cinema and an esplanade theatre. and a whole basement full of yummy food and a huge supermarket. AND the toilet is 1min away from KP. sigh. for those who do not know, i have to take a lift 8 floors up to use a toilet here in my KP. i shall not go into the fact that BKK KP has 2 security guards and a maid. sighhhh. what a world of a difference.


no wonder the koreans love thailand. u go there u become kings and queens... we went everywhere by cab, even if it was 2mins walk away. service is so polite. then the cheap massages!! ms jamie kim, manager for BKK KP, treated me n moonie to a 90min leg, foot and shoulder massage at a spa above the office, run by a damn-hot-half-korean-half-chinese-educated-in-US-so-got-accent-but-is-gay guy, which cost only $15! then the next day me n moonie went to this banyan-tree-looking spa for a 2hr full thai massage in a private room, for only $20!!! in singapore maybe cost $160 can! no wonder pple flock to thailand lah. oh my gosh. i was like almost wanting to ask for a position to work in BKK KP liao. hahaha. KIDDING of course! cannot live in that place for more than a day. the traffic n pollution n mess is still notorious. plus hor, actually thai massage is VERY PAINFUL LEH! for me only maybe... wah felt like she was trying to suffocate and strangle me can! i dunno why, maybe cos my muscles too thick (chey haha) at the shoulders, they hurt really bad. feel more aches than having worked a weekend at NATAS! next time i'll opt for a simple oil back massage...


of course, i fulfilled my main purpose of my "business" trip - to learn from the very-nice deputy director and manager there to improve on KP here. more work expected ahead now...!


P.S. i have not mentioned the MOST RIDICULOUS THING that happened in a mere 2D1N stay in bangkok. nope, none of the protesting seen. it was when moonie and i were shopping at this really high-class shopping centre called "emporium", and moonie was trying on a dress. i was browsing thru the racks when suddenly i heard a voice next to me, "m'am, u have a very lucky face m'am... u speak english?" FLABBERGASTED. i turned and i swear, it looked like the same singh in the same blue turban, same white shirt and same blue pants who approached me in singapore 2x in KP can!! i almost replied him; thankfully i didn't, just smiled and went back to browsing the racks. then he tried speaking thai to me, to which i ignored further, of course (i am now snow-white fair ok... no more being mistaken as thai cos of my tan)! then he finally left. i cannot believe it. i was in BANGKOK??? i think, it's obvious what this means. the glory of God on my face is too strong already. hahaha.

happiness! although had to work weird hours today (5-9.30pm), came home to a very lovingly-prepared-piping bowl of MEE SWA! haha... cos tdy is my lunar birthday! so glad papa came back from china in time to spend mid-autumn with us... although outside it was pouring like mad, we were all so happy eating home-cooked dinner (a rare occurrence nowadays bcos ma is on perpetual strike when pa isn't around), and even to enjoy mooncake the unconventional way - with red wine?!? and to have pa cook the yummy bowl of mee-swa-with-pig's-liver-stomach-prawn-egg for me tdy! so blessed... but i think pa is flying off to china again in a week's time. :( Abba, bless us with abundance of CASH so i can send ma off to china to be with him, and for me n sheryl to go on nice holiday with them!

i dunno how is it that i am still so busy at work. no, make that MORE BUSY, now that we're running at full force with my new korean manager ms moon (me n addy call her "fondly" by moonie behind her back, though she asks me to call her 언니...) and siow pei, my new colleague, is taking over some of my duties, so i can focus on korea plaza activities. moonie has many ideas for KP coming up, so i'm definitely part of them, n it does make me excited i guess... busy is good right? but i've been so busy, i don't have time even to plan what to do on my holiday to korea next month. 5 precious days... i really hope i make the most out of them. i think i have decided. i am NOT gonna buy anything for anybody, nor take any more orders. it's gonna be all for MEEEEEE. but before korea, i will be going to bangkok to visit the korea plaza there with moonie next week. BANGKOK. i'm not worried about the travel advisory or anything... Jesus is my protection. i just hope for the trip to be a fruitful one. ok maybe i will go for a thai massage if time permits... heh.

argh... i am SO IRRITATED. i screwed up my own flight booking! i can't believe it... I, having spent more than one year under the operose training of ms linda chua (heh heh) in CX, can actually make such a dumb mistake! booked my flight under NG/SHARMAINE instead of my full passport name NG/LIFANGSHARMAINE. they had to cancel my booking and now, i have to take the return flight from ICN at 10.15am instead of 3.15pm, bcos the class i booked orginally is full!! SO SIAN!! means i have to make my way from seoul to the airport at 7am! waste one potential morning in seoul! instead of 5.5days, i get only 5 days! sigh. called to complain to charmaine and linda, both whom lectured me (call me silly goose eh... tsk.) for the unpardonable sin in airline reservations... strangely though, it felt good to hear them laugh at me. reminds me of the time i actually made effective use of my brain at work. now maybe exploring different side of my brain lah. ^(-oo-)^ ok maybe it's also good that i arrive back in SIN early, instead of the intended 12 midnight. half a day more in seoul didn't make any significant difference to me anyway the last time round, cos already out of cash by then. muahaha.

anyway last night, me n jae suk decided to settle on our accomodation at Han Suites (SEPARATE ROOMS, if it changes ur life to know this fact). we got it at a REALLY good rate of about USD$55/night. hope it really looks like THIS as on their website:

i usually recommend this as a higher-end serviced residence option to my visitors, so i'm really looking forward to see how it really is! pay more for a more comfortable holiday... take it as my birthday treat to myself lah! splurge all on ME ME MEEEEEEE!


now to get over that stupid mistake. and convince myself that it is good to wake up early.
